Terms of Service

Effective date: June 1, 2025

Welcome to Virtual Intercom. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Virtual Intercom application, a practice communication platform for healthcare teams. By accessing or using Virtual Intercom, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Overview of the Service

Virtual Intercom provides real-time messaging for internal communication within organizations. It includes customized sound alerts, message routing, and presence awareness through installations on staff workstations.

2. Account and Access

You access Virtual Intercom using email and password plus required authenticator-app two-factor authentication. Email verification is required. Access is managed at the organization level, and your organization may assign roles that control what you can do.

3. Billing and Subscriptions

We use Stripe to manage billing. We store relevant identifiers such as Stripe customer and subscription IDs, payment method metadata (for example card brand and last four digits), and invoice records. We do not store full payment card numbers or bank credentials.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Virtual Intercom only for lawful and professional purposes. You may not misuse the service to harass, disrupt, or impersonate others, nor may you tamper with installations or circumvent access restrictions.

5. Service Reliability

While we strive to offer high uptime and performance, Virtual Intercom may occasionally undergo maintenance or experience outages. We will make reasonable efforts to minimize disruption.

6. Data Ownership

Your organization retains ownership of all content submitted through the platform. Virtual Intercom does not claim ownership or reuse rights over that data.

7. Termination

You may discontinue use at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these Terms or applicable laws.

8. Limitation of Liability

Virtual Intercom is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the service.

9. Modifications

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material updates will be communicated via email or in-app notifications. Continued use of Virtual Intercom after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
